Below is my record of the Tech tree I used during my two terms as Science Minister.

The key is:

Cyan: Can't research yet
Green: Can research
Blue: Researched tech
Yellow: Possible General Research Goals
Olive yellow: Techs reseached along our current research goal.

It works fine for me, except there's no olive yellow boxes, just the other four colors.

Yep you need word to view it. If you don't want to buy word then there is a free word viewer that you can download.

Speaking of those city walls you prefer us to build, you may note that we don´t have masonry...

We don't have the olive yellow because our GRG is chivalry and all the techs leading to chivalry have been researched.

We DO have Masonry, but my Tech tree was last updated the last term I was Science Minister.

We have alphabet, and that's in blue.

I think we should go for Engineering so we can get Invention and Leo's. Is there going to be a poll on this soon? We're over half-way done researching Theology.
