I played civ 3 a long time ago and last week i decided to give it another go (vanilla 1.29f). i have been playing for a week and finished several games. but just today some strange things happened. There are no text at all!
For example, at the beginning of the game there should be options like "New Game" "Quick Start" and "Load Game" and "Hall of Fame" and stuff but they don't show up. I can't see the buttons either. However I am able to start a new game by pressing "Enter" on the start screen. when I proceed to the next screen (selecting map size and stuff), I still see no text. but I can view the images (i can see the pangea and continents maps and the buttons but without their corresponding text). So its pointless to play any game.
Any help? I am not sure if this is asked before but probably not since it seems like a strange problem.
