looks good i think

Does that mean the leader is okay for now? If so, more work can always be done at a later date, but I feel it may be a better idea to get some of the other art for the civ done.

Have you found anyone to help implement those icons you made for unique buildings and units yet? Those looked really cool, but unfortunately I am of absolutely no help with anything like that.

In terms of making a map for the civ's dawn of man screen, I was thinking that it would be a good idea to make one based on that map you have on your mod page on steam. Where is that from?

nope, got no way to get the image ingame. I made a trace of the inti god but the civ icons are super small and it looks like trash once resized. I have a super modified sun god icon now, no idea if it will be good or not.

The map is super blurry and small as is, dont think it will be great to use, ill try to find it later, speaking of maps I think you could have a map of titicaca lake at the bottom and a red arrow pointing to a second map, of cusco, to show the migration.

Well, when you find that map of cusco, unless I find one earlier than that, I will have a go at making a map using your idea with the migration being shown.

As for problems with implementing pictures, I've no doubt there is someone on the Civilization Design Rescouces forum for Civ 5 that can help with that. Have you checked there yet?

nope, i see plenty of views so almost everyone must have seen it anyway :P

managed to get some okay looking inties but not sure If should use the detailed ones once the resolution is big enough, or just keep the simple one:

I'm pretty sure someone will be able to make a civ icon out of that if you really ask nicely.

That civ icon looks great!

I found that map you used (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c3/Kigdomofcuscomap.JPG). But you are right, it is way too small; can't read half of the text on it.

I did find this map of the city of Cusco, but it was made around 400 years after Manco Capac, so I don't suppose that is suitable. But I suppose a picture consisting of this and lake titicaca could be used to show how the Incas evolved:

I recommend that you make the starbust more evident (maybe use one of DJSHenninger's template). Also, add that dark border on the upper left corner like Firaxis's icons have, this is more important than it might seem.

I like all of those pics :P I colored my own civ icon (with more shines) but I like a lot yours darth, could you tell me what settings you used? (colors and opacity) maybe if I mix both and it ends up looking better, or not, no idea, maybe simple looks better once downsized.

The map if kept on a layer can be replaced if theres something more accurate I guess, but the map is very pretty.

On the leader icon you posted last, that hard shadow is too wide, the icons have a shadow but it must be no more than 5 pixels wide maybe even less, the shadow on civ icons is not blurred as well, use circle shapes and cut a crescent moon (or whatever) with them. The spotlights on the bg are more opaque, they are clearly evident from afar, start with 75% opacity. The leaders/units have a very light (not too wide, 100% opaque) white glow in some areas to pop them in front of the background.

Basically this. Note that it only works on Photoshop. The colors were sourced from the screenshots in the Workshop, but I darkened the red a bit because the template's effects make they look too bright otherwise.

Yeah, its probably better that someone with more expertise/experience makes the leader icon; I'll probably not do it justice. If anyone is willing, I have attached a cutout of the leader I made for the leader scene, which should make designing an icon for the leader icon easier.

I still plan on having a go at making a dawn of man map though, unless anyone else who thinks they could do a better job wants to have a go, in which case they are more than welcome to.

How's This?

That is definitely a big improvement over the one I made! I also completely forgot about having something in the background in the leader icon.

In terms of other icons needing doing, as far as I know gia still needs help with this:
I did this as a possible image for the Intikancha building icon and the ayar brothers (I dont know if it will look good in the game but I like the images themselves). I dont know how to put it in a nice frame and also how to compile it to be used by the game. If anyone can finish it up I'd appreciate it, the attachments have a circle showing more or less what centering I think would work.

the third one looks best but would need tracing on top (a lot of work), and these icons are actually very small, no idea how they make shapes visible, I imagine they actually went in and did pixel art until icons looked right, about the leader I dont like that hes at a rave or something :P could you do one with just sunlight?

I made to the other day one with a cutout of the background and one without meant to post both but only ended up posting the one with the background. The second on is one with just a light blue background. Personally I still prefer the one posted earlier, but it's your choice.
