Ind/Phi

There's an even better combo available. Play Sitting Bull (Phi/who cares) and world builder marble and stone in to the BFC of your capital.

I always found the wall trick a terrible waste of hammers anyway...

But I highly doubt firaxis was aware of it at the time anyway... After all, it is the same group who designed the AP after all ( and could not even win with it).

@obsolete, have you tried IND/PHI? I would be interested to hear thoughts on its OPness or otherwise from the master of IND.

I just tried an IND/PHI immortal game (got stone early) and am starting to have doubts about it. I ended up with an almost OCC type capital, plenty of land, and a ridiculous (for me) tech rate. Although the map was pretty ideal, it might be that IND/PHI is too straightforward in such circumstances.

I only do leaders that come with the game.. though I dont mind UN-RESTRICTED LEADERS. So I can not say for sure how things will work out as I never tried it. Surprisingly, a lot of decent players who did try it out mentioned Phi-Int turned out to be over-rated and did not meet up to expectation.

The same thing happened when Ragnar was first trialed, after being hailed as the Holy Grail ever since vanilla...

Do you remember when the masses were saying deity would be a cake walk if an Aggressive-Fin leader were ever allowed to be un-locked in the game... What ever happened to those experts I wonder now...

Anyhow, I still feel the last three leaders were intentionally left out so that Firaxis had one more re-release open to them for sales. No secret many were waiting to try the FULL leader set.... But Civ-5 came and that was the end of that....

I actually still think Civ IV will come with a final expansion down the road... Firaxis is clever at MILKING their franchise...

Yeah, I bought into the whole IND/PHI would be overpowered thing, and when I finally tried it, after several games, I was pretty disappointed...

So no chance of an IND/PHI finale to your IND/deity series? :(

I hope you're right about the expansion, but it seems to me firaxis has shifted its priorities to producing bull**** these days....
