I get this pop-up messgae thing that is sory of like those msn things that say person X has signed in or you have mail. It says: Indexing of windows is complete. Would you like to _________ (I forget the rest). It was annoying today as I was playing call of duty. I then proceded to try and shoot the messgae. Instead I killed one of my own guys. WTH is it? I think it is slowing down this computer. (this is my mom's comp, not my crappy dell comp). Either that or my step-sister's music downloading brought along something else...

Post a screenshot next time you get it.

There is an Windows Indexing Service, and it's to help find files. There's an option the the C: properties to turn it off, but I don't remember exactly where.

You can right click on the drive and disable indexing under properties, but it's enabled by default on XP at least, and I've never seen it pop up a message before.

Do post a screen or write down the full message next time and post it.
