Indians and REF's can get great generals. To reproduce this: If you play long enough and fight them enough you'll see this happen.

If they had their own list of names for great generals (Burgoyne for example) I wouldn't mind, but they get people like Horatio Gates.

It doesn't make sense.

GG names are from one big pool. That's how it worked in Civ4 too, so as Germany I could get Zharkov, and as Russia I could get Manstein. :)

Working correctly.

I would agree with you if Native American or REF general names were in the mix.

In this case, all of the general names are revolutionaries. The pool of names is for revolutionaries but even the natives and the REF are getting generals in rare cases.

If they intended for the REF and Indians to be coequal faction like the different nations in Civ4, why do they behave so differently and why aren't REF generals like General Burgoyne in the mix? Because it wouldn't make sense for the American revolutionaries to have them.

It does make some sense when they get Benedict Arnold, but not Gates, Green, Santa Anna, etc.

Seriously dude, it's just a name. :)

Can they get Benedict Arnold? That would be FANTASTIC

And considering his performance at Camden, Gates isn't such a bad choice for the REF

It's technically possible! (but it's random) I think I've witnessed it, but I can't remember. They more often get the historically-non-traitorous generals. If there was a random event that caused your general to go change sides, I'd be impressed. That way, whenever you received Benedict Arnold, you'd be all like "yeah right, I'm sure that guy will last."

But first, I'd be more impressed if they kept different lists of Great Generals for the REF's or Indians. They put so much thoroughness into to other areas, like founding fathers, after all.
