I've played SMRR for 3 weeks now, and couldn't figure out how come there's no sign for newspaper, while there is for automobils, finished products, etc. Any thoughts?
I'd to download some original maps, if there are any to be found.

Tnx a lot. It took me a while to figure that not every product is distributed. Cities with no newapaper have to get by without.
About maps the D/L link is nonexsistant in the forum U directed me to.
Tnx anyway
I'm planning a strategy to help other guys less experient to make money quickly and posting in this forum.

Sorry bout that..I copied that from the address page, and sometimes that doesn't work. The main page is www.hookedforums.com. On that page you'll find a Mini Sites section and the forum access will be there. You have to register and login to download. It also has a Wiki dedicated to the game. One member created automatic installers for the maps so you just download the ZIP, open it to a folder of your choice and when you click on the file, it automatily loads the map or engines onto your system.

There are over 5000 members, and lots of fun and answers. If you have any more problems, email me at snoopy55@charter.net. I'm also one of the moderators for the forum.

Hope to see you there:goodjob:

They also have to go without power if they don't have a power plant.
I guess you can think of the paper itself as a finished product, and the newspaper as a consumer rather than a provider.
But knowing SID, they'll probably make an expansion where you can distribute newspapers(Although technically speaking, most news agencies serve their local area).

True because you see the news is consumed just as the delivered food and automobiles but you never see the restaraunts or dealerships. News pops up from time to time, you can here cars horns in cities that get them delivered but that is the extent.

The game needs more depth and a longer timeline to work it to depth. Most of the times I play, more than half of the cities remain disconnected. Slow it down and you can connect them all but it's nearly impossible to meet all the needs for each city. By the time you do there is so much track that the game starts running like windows (slows down, hogs resources).

Lol, yeah track building does get a bit messy towards the end of the game. Most scenarios I easily connect everyone on investor or financier. What I hate are the Europaen scenarios, where a raw resource is in the opposite corner of its consumer(I mean really, why have a cannery hundreds of kilometers from the harbor when refrigeration won't be invented for another 50 years?).
