So I was playing America on Epic Speed (1700 start). I got a good start, took most of the Caribbean (just not that last British one). I made peace with Spain and France, but in 1826 A.D. (turn 541) I got a disgraced Senator event, the event log said Spain lost 4 cities, and San Juan flipped back to their control. They didn't get any troops in it, and my own garrison just got booted to port-au-prince, but Spain got control of the city.
My best guess is that there was an at least semi-scripted (stability linked) loss of Spain's Mediterranean colonies, but does anyone know what exactly happened? I would like to know so I can avoid getting hit with more of this sort of thing in future.
