First off, system specs:

2.8 gHz Pentium 4 processor
512 MB RAM
128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro with latest drivers

Okay here's how it all goes down... I start the game and it laods up and I get to the main menu with the awesome tribal music. I click single-player and try to load one of my saved games. Oce I double-click it, it starts to load by going through the tings like Init Graphics, Load Player, Load Map, etc. And it finishes loading with a full green bar and says "Done".

However, the game never loads. After waiting for a good five minutes I try to switch to the desktop so I can end the game forcefully. So I do, and after waiting for forver for that to happen it closes down and I try again. Same results but this time when a app switch to the desktop it comes up with a repeated texture I can't make out and am forced to restart. I tried it once more with no luck... Any suggestions?

Im a gonna post a reply because I posted this late last night and would like to get it more attention.

Go to desktop then task manger. look under performance and see if your total memory is getting bigger with time. If it's slowly getting bigger then like kandalf said just continue to wait since it still working on the map.

P.S a rough estimate of total memory uses (including windows xp) is somewhere between 120 to 150 times your save game file. So if you trying to load a save game of 1000 kb this will usually end up using between 1.2 to 1.5 gb of memory.

check the other ati thread... ppl are having similar loadup crashes and it looks like a vid card problem
