After playing through a bunch of games in single player, i thought i would try out the mod database.

When i open the online database i get a single page of mods: i chose one i like and it attempts to connect. Nothing Happens.

After about a minuite of looking at the avalable mods, the list dissapears, leaving me with a emptry box.
I try and refresh the browser, and a ring appears in the centre. It fills up, and emptys, fills, and emptys, and after a minuite, it stops.
Blank screen.

When i check the "Downoads" Tab, it shows the mods i have chosen, but they arent doing anything.

Under status, it sais "WARNING" But nothing happens.

Help?

Edit:

Mods that i have downloaded from this website work fine, by the way.

Same problem here. It's very annoying, especially since I'm a heavy mod user. If I manage to click a mod in the 5-10 second window I have before it disappears, it will actually start downloading the next time I start Civ (although if I exit civ soon after going into the mod browser, it just hangs and I have to open the task manager to close it). However, clicking any of the sort options or waiting 5-10 seconds makes the whole list disappear so I can only use my workaround to download the most recent mods.

I had no problems with the mod browser for a while. Suddenly I get this same behavior. I cannot see any mods in the browser now. This is quite frustrating :P

I have had same issue for a while i feel like i shouldn't have paid for this game

yeah this is a joke, firaxis really needs to get their sh*t together. my mods have been claiming that whenever i try enabling a mod that "another version of this mod is already enabled" now i cant even get into the "online" section of the modbrowser.

Several people have told me to clear my cache...but I check that out and there doesn't seem to be anything to clear. I don't really understand what clearing my cache means and I am sceptical about this having anything to do with the mod browser disappearing.
Please advise!!!

nice frenze of posts last 3 days.
Atleast, now im certain im not the only one with this problem.

And it IS still a problem, it hasnt been fixed in the recent updates.

*Headdesk*

Who told you where to clean your cache?
Because i havent heard that fix yet ( i havent even heard a single fix yet )

Tell me how to do it, and ill try it myself.

Unfortunately I don't know what clear my cache means. A friend of mine who is a big PC gamer suggested that I look in the game files and do this. I found a file called cache but again, I don't see how this would only affect the in game mod browser...everything else works perfectly and I don't want to delete a needed game file.
I've been going to this sites' mods and downloading the old fashioned way. The Medics mod is cool as is the improved city-state diplomacy mod, but I'm very dissapointed with this issue. And the fact that not many people seem to be experiencing this problem makes me think that maybe I have some mysterious setting not correct or something.
If any of you figure this out please share!!

Clearing the cache exactly means what you assume: Delete everything in that folder.
It's not harmful. In fact, the cache is a temporary storage place for the needed ingame files, so it will only affect the loading time at the beginning.

Same problem here.

I cant even reliably browse for the mods, let alone download them.

When I have the mod browser open in Civ5 and alt tab back to other applications my internet is either really slow or dead, so I think it is something to do with the internet access.

These problems may be related to getting disconnected from the internet when opening the mod browser. That seems to happen because a lot of connections are opened simultaneously.

That thread might help with these issues also.

Thats the problem exatialy, and the link that was in that thread had a solution.

I have no idea what the solution IS, but i know now there IS a solution.
