.ini file rewrites itself

I edit the .ini file to automatically load a mod (Better Bat AI) and it works a couple of times. Then I'll go and start the game and the .ini file has reverted back to no mod version. I used to think it happened when I restarted but I noticed that even without a restart it occurs.

Has anyone encountered this problem? I realize all I have to do is load a mod from the main menu but it's a bit of a bit of a pain and I'd like to know why it's happening.

Any ideas?

If you're using Vista or Windows 7, then there may be two versions of the ini file around, and the game might get confused. Just a guess though. In any case, you can get around the problem by using a shortcut to start the game, and adding the parameter mod="EnterModNameHere" to its target string. I actually have a jumplist (Win7) in my taskbar from which I can start any of two dozen mods with a single click, it's more efficient than ini editing imho.
