Installation help, please? (Civ 5 Mac)

I've been trying for the past few days to install Civ 5 and it's not working. Whenever I try, it just says 'creating local game cache files' and 'Preparing Cid Meier's Civilization 5 files for install' with rapidly changing ellipses but nothing ever happens. It just gives me a 'Connection Timeout' thing after a while.

I know my Mac meets the minimum requirements. Help?

That sounds more like a Steam issue rather than one particular to Civ V.

You could try this:
Go to the Steam menu in the Steam window.
Select "Settings."
Select the "Downloads + Cloud" tag.
Change the Download Region in the drop down list.
Select "Ok."

You might have to restart Steam, but that might help with your problem.

I've tried that a few times... I'll try it when I have a better Wired connection; hopefully that changes something.
