Hello, I am attempting to install Civilization IV on my computer. I bought it many years ago and before I had my computer upgraded to Vista from 2000, It worked fine. But now I cannot seem to install it. About 10 seconds after I begin to install, It pauses on a file called art0.fpk and It gives me this message.

Feature transfer error

Feature: Default Feature
Component: Civ4Component
File: G:\data2.cab
Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

I have no idea what to do. Can I Run it says I score fine, I have GeForce 9200, I have no idea if its good or not. What do I need to do to fix it (I really want to play again, it was so addicting :P)?

Welcome to CFC! :band:

This usually means that the disc is damaged or dirty. Unfortunately it often means you have to get a new copy, and as yours is old, that probably means buy another. Before you do that it is however worth trying the following:

clean the disc and see if that allows it to install
try installing from another drive if you have one
try copying the contents of the disc to your hard drive and install from there
try copying the contents of the disc on another computedr, transfer them to your hard drive and install from there.

I hope one of these work so that you don't have to buy another copy, good luck!
