Installation Issues

Sorry for being so lazy as to not search the forums but i keep getting an error that says that the ART0.FPK file doesnt match to the cab file and something like that. If i click abort, it stops the installation. If i click ignore the game doesnt work. If i click retry then it goes again and shows the error in about a minute. THen if i click retry my comp crashes and restarts. The game worked on the first nstallation but my hard drive crashed and had to be reformatted so i lost the install. While it did work i also had a graphical problem- the units and terrain and everything moving had spikes and deformed polygons like for instance- a warrior would have a large triangle coming out of his head and there wouuld be tons of these. Im wondering if this has anything to do with my graphics card- Nvidia GeForce MX 4000 with 64 mb ram. i dont know if it has TnL and if it doesnt that might be the problem.
My main problem though is the fact that i cant install it.

Tried again on a newly formatted, fresh win2K install with all the updates (incl SP4), and with a spare DVD-ROM drive. Same problem. Then tried on the wife's PC that is still on Win2K SP2 or SP3. Is this possibly an OS or service pak issue?
