I did a search on the forums, but did not find my exact error so I decided to make a post.
The first error I receive is at the end of disc 3 installation for CIV IV Gold Edition. I get "The add a program to exception listed failed". This doesn't appear to affect the installation of CIV IV Gold. It asks for Disc 1 again after disc 3, the same error appears again but it does finish the installation. I'm not sure if this is even an issue but I mention it because it may part of the reason for the second error posted below.
I read several threads about updating CIV IV to 1.61 to 1.74 in that order. I took a look at the CIV IV versions under normal and warlords. Vanilla CIV IV build version was 1.7.4.0. Warlords build version 2.1.3.0. At this point, I can play warlords and vanilla. When I open either version I can this upon start up: "You have selected an unusable voice capture device. Voice capture disabled" This doesn't appear to affect anything but I mention as it may be helpful.
The last error and the worst obviously, is I can't install BTS at all. The error I receive is during the installation wizard. I get this error:
A rough summary of my specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHZ
3 GB of RAM
GTX 275x2
Vista 64 Bit Ultimate
EDIT: Read a few more threads and some people talk about D2D versions. All of my are discs bought from the store and not direct to drive. I bought CIV IV Gold and BTS.
EDIT 2: Just thought of something else. I have 2 hard drives. One is a 30 GB Solid State Drive. That is my C drive on my computer. The 2nd one is a 1000 GB Hard drive labeled as D Drive. One again don't know if this matters but I put it out there.
