So, I got the Civ IV Special Edition for Christmas, but when I tried to install it, it wouldn't let me.
The first time I put the disc in, I pressed the install button, but the install screen froze when I tried to install it. Okay, no problem, so I put in the disc again and it says play instead of install. I'm confused, but I figure it's a text error or something. But I press play and nothing happens. I check to see if it somehow magically installed, but the only thing in the Civilization IV folder is the Readme file.
So I try the other disk, Disk 2. It brings up...the Readme file. WTH? I try both CDs in both of my CD drives. No luck. I reboot my computer. No luck. Virus scan. Nothing. Try it several more times. Still no luck.
There's no error or anything, it just...doesn't do anything. Nothing. It said Install the first time, but after the Install screen froze that first time it said Play instead, and the Play button didn't do anything. No Civ IV files are actually installed on my computer (except for the Readme).
So, does anybody have a clue what in the hell is going on?
