Installing Leaderheads

Hey everyone.

I am new to installing mods for civilization 4. I have always played it as is, with the exception of patches and am now ready to jump into the wide world of mods, graphics, and other goodies!

Now, I am going to start with leaderheads. I have downloaded 2 leaderheads. Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Lenin of Russia/Soviet Union. How do I go about installing these and playing them ingame? Would I have to load a mod, or would it show up under Russia as a leader to choose from?
