Installing warlords?

So I recently uninstalled vanilla, Warlords and BtS along with all my mods in order to free up some space on my drive, and just attempted installing them to a new drive. Vanilla installed fine, but when I went to install warlords it told me I already had Warlords 2.13 installed. So I searched around in my registry to find evidence of Warlords, and there was some, so I deleted it and rebooted my computer. Then I tried installing it again, and got the same message. Any idea what I should try next?

delete all the warlords stuff listed below (its a complete reinstall guide):

install the most recent version of DirectX 9c from Microsoft

then do the following for a clean reinstall:

Uninstall and Reinstall Civ4 Warlords BtS :

Try to follow this order when doing stuff:
Use Control panel to uninstall Beyond the Sword, then Warlords, then Civ4
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\sid meier's civilization 4" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\warlords" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\my documents\my games\beyond the sword" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\application data\my games\sid meier's civilization 4" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\application data\my games\warlords" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\application data\my games\beyond the sword" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\local settings\application data\my games\sid meier's civilization 4" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\local settings\application data\my games\warlords" manually
Delete "...\documents and settings\<username>\local settings\application data\my games\beyond the sword" manually
(note: application data is a hidden directory so you need to configure windows explorer to show hidden files, also these directories in application data are sometimes removed by the uninstall routine)
Delete "...\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{CFBCE791-2D53-4FCE-B3FB-D6E01F4112E8}" (Civ4)
Delete "...\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{3E4B349F-10B5-4586-9D99-489A90A8B228}" (Warlords)
Delete "...\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989}" (BtS)
(note: InstallShield Installation Information is a hidden directory so you need to configure windows explorer to show hidden files).
Install Civ4, immediately patch it to 1.61 (download it fresh from here)
Install Warlords, immediately patch it to 2.08 (download it fresh from here)
Install Beyond the Sword, immediately patch to 3.17 (download it fresh from here).

I have the same exact problem, but the proposed solution hasn't worked.
For one thing, Control Panel has been unable to uninstall Warlords or BTS. In both cases, I get a "Setup.exe no longer works. The program will be closed and you will be informed if a solution is found." :mad: :wallbash: :yuck:
I got the same thing when I tried to use my Hard-Drive cleanup from the System Tools.
But as far as I can tell, both of them aren't even on the drive any more. I erased all traces of them from D (where my games are)...neither the Search option nor manual browsing turns up anything.

ps: In C:\ I did not find the Install Shield Directory, which may be the problem, though I did find Apps Data (but it may be something else, as I have a German OS. There were BTS and Warlords files under AppData, however).
How exactly do I configure Explorer to show hidden files?

it should be quite similar for xp and vista - though on a German OS obviously the path names are slightly different they would be:
documents and settings -> Dokumente und Einstellungen
my documents -> Eigene Dateien
my games -> my games
local settings -> Lokale Einstellungen
application data -> Anwendungsdaten
Program Files -> Programme

Edit: Welcome to Civfanatics :band:

Thanks. I managed to find the hidden Folder, but there seems to be no InstallShield folders designated 3E4B349F-10B5-4586-9D99-489A90A8B228 or 32E4F0D2-C135-475E-A841-1D59A0D22989.

I did find the CIV 4 one (CFBCE791-2D53-4FCE-B3FB-D6E01F4112E8).

Regarding the German OS, sadly those things don't tend to translate all that easily, so guessing is really all I can do.

Oddly, very oddly, I found the required InstallShield files among the AppsData (which wasn't hidden, but the InstallShield folder was). I've deleted them and will see what happens now.

Yes, it worked! :thanx: :cool:
