Hi I have a friend who just created an account with GameSpy no less than 2 days ago. When playing Civ IV, he could connect to Internet Games on the same day he created it. Today (after getting Warlords) we were going to play a Warlords game. However he could not log in to his account on Warlords but I could still use mine. We then tried to do a Direct IP address game, but that did not work with Warlords either. Next we tried to do an Internet Game in Civ IV (not Warlords), and that didn't work. Finally we tried the Dirct IP Game in Civ IV and that worked.
Can anyone help me/us figure out what is going wrong, and why my friend can't connect to Internet Games on either Civ IV or Warlords, and why Direct IP on Warlords won't work. This is rather frustrating.
We have checked the firewall software (Zone Alaram) and it is granting access for Internet and Server for both Civ IV and Warlords. As far as I can tell it has nothing to do with the firewall. The router is an Actiontec from Qwest [but we played no more than 48 hours ago, why did it just stop working].
