They are two Kingfisher recon planes being launched off the stern catapults. Most large ww2 ships had them from cruisers on up.

Funny you should mention that , Winter. The thought crossed my mind the other day. I've found a model in mdl format, but have had no luck in finding a tool to convert it to a usable file (preferrably 3DS).

I've now decided to try my hand at building a model myself, from scratch. It will be the class of battleship the Indiana is, the South Dakota class.

Drivebymaster, what model are you referring to ? The South Dakota I am building ? Or the Indiana I found ? If it is the Indiana, it is in a mdl format microsoft uses. But I don't need it now since I've built a South Dakota myself.

The USS Iowa (which I had to correct myself , using actual blueprints of the ship), the Aegis cruiser, and KGV I bought from a place called digimation.com. The California CGN I used from a game mod for Fleet Command, and of course, the South Dakota, as I mentioned above, I built myself.

Just do a search on google or yahoo for "3D models" or "free 3D models". I personally haven't found any free models to my liking.

Seeing how I released this unit almost a month ago, I'd say any critique now is too little, too late. When I post previews in the preview forum, that is the time for suggestions/critisms. This unit is finished and will only be altered or redone if something about it bugs me. I personally don't like alot of Civ color on my units.
