Anybody know how to change an IP address?
If I do that ipconfig /release thingy and leave my connection down for a few days, then connect back again, will I get a new IP?

How about the network card? Is that the mac address? Is it as simple as installing a new network card to get a new one? And if I'm behind a router, do I need a new router or just clone the router address to my new network card?

Thanx

You can change the IP-address. In the control panel there should be an icon for network connections (it looks a bit different on different OSs). When you've clicked this icon, you should see a list of protocols and a whole bunch of other network settings. Find the TCP-protocol for your network card and press properties for it. Here you should be able to assign a new IP-address.

About the MAC-address, I don't understand if you want to keep it, or if you want to change it to a new one? My router clones the MAC-address of one of our computers, so if I change network card, I guess I have to clone it again.
