Not sure I have seen this bug before? I'm playing as Rome and I'm desperately trying to upgrade my warriors to Legions obviously. I have at least 3 iron mines on the go which only seem to produce +6 iron per turn. Anyway, every time I get near having enough to finally upgrade a warrior (with the requisite gold of course) - the iron seems to reset and I have to wait to get there again! I notice one of my cities (a brand new one) seems to switch from warrior to legion for some reason - is this something to do with it? Even when I switch it back it wont give me the iron back. Very frustrating! Am I missing something obvious?

As soon as you have enough iron for the legion the game automatically switches production from warrior to legion and allots it the necessary iron. If you want to upgrade an existing unit you have to switch production the turn before you have enough iron.

Thanks for the replies. That makes sense but its annoying. I don't want to convert the warrior build to a legion. I want to upgrade my existing warriors!

Anyway, thanks for letting me know and Ill makes sure there's no city making a warrior next time I play.

You can still build the warrior if you want, just switch production to something else for a turn, once you upgrade your unit you can finish the warrior.

The reason behind this is that you could produce warriors pretty quickly and then upgrade them to legions (in case you had the gold needed) which would be unfairly powerful. The game will only let you build warriors if you don't have the iron needed to build legions, and will change to legion if you get said iron before finishing the warrior.

This is the same for pretty much every other unit in the game.

Yeah I've figured this out now. It had been so long since I last played Civ 6 that I didn't realise Legions needed Iron now!

Can anyone point me in the direction of the mod for Civ V graphics on Civ 6? Presumably it works with GS?

Just experienced this myself last game. I was trying to build up iron to upgrade a Quadrireme and my stockpiles kept depleting as queued Warriors got automatically switched to Swordsmen

But that's exactly what I wanted to do, dammit ;)

I don't really know what you're asking, sorry. Just log into Steam and hit the green "subscribe" button and then the mod will download to your computer. If you unsubscribe, the mod is removed. No need to tag it as "favorite" but there's a button for that too.

Thanks for all the help. I still don't understand what was going on with Steam but basically I had to do the above from within Steam itself - not via the link or on the browser. It was showing me as logged in and still asking me Install Steam!

Anyway, sorted now. Ive got the Civ V graphics mod running and its definitely an improvement. I haven't played Civ 6 so much in ages thanks to a certain worldwide event. Despite its problems I am addicted all over again. :)
