Is great wall suppose to stop Barbs from getting in??

I built the great wall, but now Barbarians wont enter my territory, even if its not protected by the wall, instead they take long trips around me and hit egypt.. which I hate because, they destroy egypts improvements, so i have nothing to do during war to make them feel insignificant enough to let me turn them into my vassal.. lol.

Yes, this is exactly the purpose of the Great Wall. Don't like it -> don't build it.

So the entire border is off limits to the barbs, even when it expands beyond the wall?? that just doesnt make since.. i thought the Walls effect only covered the current border.. kinda stupid to make a wall work 3 or 4 blocks away from it.

Apparently the graphic wall on the map is only a graphic; the cultural border is what the barbarians observe and avoid; or so it seems to me.

thats what I think as well, I kinda wish they would come up to the wall, I mean, mongolians attacked chinises territory located outside the wall

I don't have an opinion on that (yet), but perhaps there was just nothing interesting for the barbarians to kill / pillage outside of the great wall territory?

lol, I have 3 or 4 barbs sitting outside my border they have 5 squares they can go in unless a barb ship picks them up, they wont enter my territory at all. I have 6 workers standing on the squares inside the border working, and I see the barbs go up to them, stand there for a turn and then wander...

I have a relatively weak Barbarian City which is located in the center of my empire... the barbs wont even send their worker out because my forces are to close lol. I feel as tho Im the barbarian...
