Is it a bug?

The following happens in my last game: Me and England built Spaceship. We launched together. A few turns later i met him first time and...and they demanden for Robotics! How could this happen? How could they build Spaceship components without Robotics?!

And another interesting thing - SETI Program isn't shown at F6 window. That is the amount of beakers is the same with Program and without it. So, it seems to me, that affect of Program applies later (when all beaker is calculated).

Probably not a bug so much as how the programmers modeled the ai and spaceships, they just get them without having to build them. This style of ai is not uncommon in earlier games.

As is the case with these oddball situations in CIV DOS it would be nice to see the MAP & SVE files. Why don’t you up load them?

According to Rome on 640K a Day, the AIs can build entire space ark with only Space Flight technology. You can view that as a bug or just another AI cheat.

I think that cheat gets a pass. Seeing as the AI is unable to select a specific tech for research, this probably allows them to build the ship in a reasonable amount of time. And it's not like they leverage this advantage by zeroing their science slider.

@Dack, I very seldom upload something or make printscreens. I have two saves: in the first one I'm ready to build Spaceship, the second one is autosave when Spaceships have arrived. In the last one is possible to meet England and how they demand. If it's interesting I will upload, but my vesrion of game is in Russian, I don't know whether it's possible to use saves in other versions.

One more interesting thing: the first save I played twice. The first attemp I won, and it was later (about 10 turn), Enlgand also built Spaceship, but by some reason they didn't build modules...In the second attemp I played better and faster, but they could build all Spaceship parts, so I lost by just one turn. In both attemps America build Spaceships, but only the simpliest parts...Probably this depends on Civlization size?

Simple summary - don't let AI get Space Fligths)
