Hi, Civ Rev is really frustrating me atm, as I live in the UK and it's out here of course.. yet I own an American 360 so I can't actually buy the game as I have no idea if it will work on my 360. (most games do, but some don't - don't want to waste my money!).

Anyway, ranting aside. I noticed on the demo version it enables you to get to the "Quick Game" menu for multiplayer.

However I tried this last night and sat there for about 20 minutes on the pre-game screen with lots of people just joining & leaving the game over and over. Often the same people who'd joined and left just a few minutes more. So they were clearly WANTING to play and weren't just quitting out - same as myself - but I could never seem to launch an actual game.

So I thought that the online play must be disabled in the demo... But if that is the case, why enable the "Multiplayer - Quick Game" option at all? All other multiplayer options are disabled. Why allow me to get to the pre-game screen even?

So has anyone here been able to play multiplayer online with just the demo?

I never had a problem playing the demo online. Sometimes is hard to fin a game because there is a lot of people with the full game. But I think we can survive for 2 more weeks :D.
Ask if the UK version will work in you 360, probably you should be enjoying the full game instead to playing the demo.

Thanks. Hmm! I will try again then I guess. :) Cheers Kazuy4.

I just wonder why all these people kept joining & leaving my game. Can full-version game players end up playing demo-version players I wonder? aah soo little info on this game it's frustrating. Doesn't even have its own forum on xbox.com

Are you using a mic? maybe they are trying to talk to you, I prefer games where I can talk with my opponent.

Yep I had my mic on and was saying hello to everyone at first.. although after 15 times of "xxx has left the game" I got a bit bored...

Maybe they do not have a mic and they are afraid to talk with strangers... :P

Actually, I have the demo and I always want to play with my friends so one of us will get into an empty lobby and the other will connect, booting people in the process.
-don't know if this helps, just try to get friends to play -Your lucky though cause you get the full game first:sad:

There's a lot of people trying to play their friends on the demo, so they are joining/quitting over and over again until they give up or find their friend...I've also been kicked 3 or 4 times by people who didn't want to play with someone they didn't know.

Ah thanks guys, yep that all makes sense. Well I got the demo to work online last night so that was great :) Seems very smooth with another player. I'd definitely want to practice offline though as the timer was a bit tight sometimes, and I was only messing about.

Now... if only I knew for sure the PAL Civ Rev worked on a USA console I'd have bought the full game already. But I don't want to waste my money if it doesn't work. It's really hard to find anywhere online that confirms these things, the places I know of don't list Civ Rev yet and regional compatibility forums are all chatter about (relatively) rubbish stuff like GTA and NG2
You'd think as they weren't going for a global release date that region lock is more likely.. then again.. how many American's import Euro games? Very unlikely - so I guess they may not have cared

I'll have to play safe really though and wait for the USA release myself, unless a friend gets the UK game and brings it round to my house so I can test it myself
