Is Paratrooper IN in CivVI?

I kind of wish we'd get a unique unit that has the paratrooper's "teleport" ability earlier than the Modern era. Teleporting swordsmen who could "jump" over enemy formations be very interesting. Or how about something bizarre like a siege unit or a submarine (Hunt for Red October style).

Well, I think the closest you'll get is the "Commando" promotion that lets troops scale cliffs - that ought to be good for surprise raids behind front lines. It will take an expansion pack or two but maybe Carthage will make a return with units that can cross mountains. Or...I wonder if Recon units could have a level 3 or 4 promotion that lets them cross mountains.

The air combat reveal should be interesting, given what they've teased about significant changes. For one, I would hope that if you have fighter planes on active patrol, paratroopers should suffer something like 50% damage when dropping in to your territory.

What about the possibility of dropping units in a random ex? Just to simulate bombers evasion manouvres to avoid fighers fire and paratroopers dropped somewhere lost behind front line
