Is teching slowed done?

I always play on Epic and iam now on turn 350 and bearly in the renaissance.
I kinda like it because time went just to fast later on when u had mas sience.

I'm on turn 395 and I am in the middle of the Industrial Era...
Playing as Venice on Epic, by the way. Full science tree finished, too.

I actually thought that it had been sped up a fraction... I'm just over half-way through the tech tree when I'd expected to be about 1/3-1/2 of the way through.

It's 3% per city on a larg map, difficulty: king. It's hardly noticeable, though. At least for me. I used to have huge problems with money and then with happiness. And it's 2 levels below my standard G&K difficulty...
