Is there a name for this?

I find the best way to get out of it is to move my feet via my ankles. It's one of the few places that I can control.
I don't think I have the control to choose which part of my body to move. It's always my neck/head that appears to move. Well, it's hard to describe but the movement is like trying to sit up in general.

So I was dozing off, and then the [curse curse swear angst angst] neighbors on the back deck woke me up (you'd THINK they'd know better than to screech at each other at 3 AM, but nooooo!).

And for some reason or another, my body was "stuck," I couldn't move it at all, but I could still think. After a few minutes it got un-stuck.

Name for it?

Been there, done that. It is actually pretty cool. Only lasts a minute thought.

I get this all the time. I'd be surprised if it's at all serious.

What's cool is that this is a very easy mental state from which to produce an out-of-body experience. I recommend trying to roll out of bed.

Maybe a few times of "shut herself off" is not serious. I am not a doctor, I can't give the correct answer. But, if it happens again in an improper circumstances, such as when you are crossing a road, swimming in the water, driving a car. It will be dangerous.

Yeah that would be bad, but that sounds like narcolepsy, not sleep paralysis. Remember, sleep paralysis happens when-and-because you are asleep.

I thought I read "crossing a river" and was really excited such an odd example was used. Then I read again :(
