Is there a way to look at past pop-up messages

I have not scoured the site for this info because I am not sure how I should word a search. I tried some variations on Google but am getting no where.

What I am trying to find is a way to review what pop up messages have happened, at least recently. As I often times run off and do chores when it is not my turn and realize I miss some important messages. Is there a way to pull up a running log of these messages without going to each leader to review gossip? Or to get the popups to stay on until I have read them?

There is no notification or message log in the game at this time, but it has been frequently requested by the community, so there's always hope it gets added in a patch.

The historical pop up messages related to specific other civs (ie your agent has learnt Rome has built a monument or whatever) do seem to be able to be accessed in the diplomatic screen for the relevant civ.

It's under gossip for the appropriate Civ.
