Is there a way to make the production area of the city screen larger?

When you zoom on a city the area for production is fairly small and doesn't show many buildings/units at once. Is there a way to make this larger so it shows more things?

The grey lines on the screen separating the regions of the screen are hard coded in the graphics engine and can't be changed. This is because that bit of code has not been released for modding.

Platyping did come up with a method of zooming in on that part of the screen buy creating a new screen for just that part of the screen. It is a place to start if you are modding.
