Is there any benefit to power plants in cities already powered by the Hoover Dam?

Pangea world, large map. All of my cities are on the main continent, so all of my cities are now powered by the Hoover Dam.

Is there any benefit in building a Solar or Nuclear power plant in a city that's already being powered by the Hoover Dam? Will it lower my pollution any further, for example?

Solar plant no.
Nuclear plant yes.(+50% production)
And it won't lower your amount of pollution.

The solar plant will replace the hydro plant, but their effect are equal so it will not affect shield output. I think they are equal when it comes to pollution too. The solar plant is more expensive, but nice if your city is not by a river.
