Is this a bug or not?

The other day while playing Civ II i noticed a weird bug that I have never seen before even though I've been playing this game for years.

I had a peace treaty with the Sioux.. When i went to my foreign minister menu it showed my status with the Sioux as being "Peace". However when I entered into negotiations with them... the "ask for a peace treaty" option was available to me. When I asked they turned me down.. Yet afterwards the foreign minister menu STILL showed me as being at peace with them.

I've had this happen to me twice lately. I'm not sure if i actually am still at peace or not... Has anybody else ever seen this happen?

I've had that happen a few times. It's more of a little inconvenience than a "bug." But make sure you have the latest version of whatever edition it is you're playing. That might take care of it.

If not, go b**** at one of the development people.

The is another strange peace bit that occurs when you have the great wall or united nations. You will sometime find a civ you are at peace with repeatedly asking for peace treaty, every time one of his combat units activated next to one of your units. What this means is that the AI was trying to sneak attack you but is prevented by the wonder from doing so.

Well I do have the latest version so I guess I'm going to yell at one of the development people.

I just found it weird that I had never ever seen it happen before.

That has happened to me several times, but never as bad as this AM when I was supposedly at peace with the Aztecs, so I built a city near one of their units, who promptly took it without the usual 'Sneak attack by %string1 forces'.

Needless to say I was POed big time and slaughtered the Aztecs brutally some ten turns later.
