i do not now have, nor have I ever had, an account at Wells Fargo. Nevertheless, I have just received the following email from them. Should I report this and, if so, to whom?

yep this is a fake phishing website

Nice spelling of wel-capital I-s-fargo. It tricked me!
I decide to punish the scammer by uploading my recent disk of game to them.
The scammer put static images on the website instead of interactive links of Wells Fargo, which is not impressive for me, and they should have continued the usage of welisfargo as their domain, which is easier to trick people.

It's Wells Fargo, so automatically yes.

But @plarq is right. It's a phishing scam. Report (to Wells Fargo) and move on. :)

Reporting it couldn't hurt, but it's probably not going to do any good. The best thing is to ignore emails like this. They're nothing but phishing scams intended to steal your money and identity.

I get lots of emails from banks I never had an account at, and apparently I'm such a "valued" customer that Target wants to reward me with points or a discount or some equally ridiculous thing - since Target no longer has any stores in Canada, and Canadians have never been permitted to order online from that store. When I found out that online Canadian customers were not welcome, I decided that I wouldn't even step foot in their parking lot when they opened here. So this "valued customer" crap is doubly ridiculous.

Pretty simple, just never click any links in email. If there's a question with your account simple open a new browser tab and go to the site yourself. I get tons of paypal account issues emails and stuff like that, it's all fake.

I got a scam email from my bank this morning offering to upgrade my account for only €73 per year. Rip-off.

If it was American Express, it might have been a legit offer. :D

Didn't they used to run a stage coach business?

Bit outdated, isn't it?

Still, there's a brewery not far from me called Charles Wells. And they've got a beer called Wells Fargo. So maybe it's that.

There's a song in the play "The Music Man" about the Wells Fargo wagon. Everyone's really happy to see it, especially the guy who ordered raisins from Fresno.
