Hi people,

First, I'd like to say this is by far the bestest mod I ever played. Great job!

I have three issues after having changed faction during a game. I have been playing with the Gaians up to a domination victory, and then built the Dawn of Planet to play the Cult of Planet.

First issue: when I save and load the game again, I revert back to play the Gaians, wich I don't want to. Is there a fix for that bug? I know that already has been discussed somewhere, but I couldn't find the thread again, sorry.

Second issue: When I changed to play the Planet Cult, I was teamed with my previous Gaian empire. This is probably not a bug, but I still felt sorry about it, one of the reasons I wanted to change to the Planet Cult was to invade my former empire under the Cult banner. Moreover, once given to the AI, Deirdre made really unstrategic diplomatic choices, wich ended up causing a war with the second most powerful faction, the Hive, and its protectorates, including the third most powerful faction, Domai's. As I was teamed with Deirdre, I automatically got into war at her sides and ended having Domai's and Yang's legions knocking at my door while I only had three brandnew bases and four military units... Is there a way to break a team, like an alliance or a protectorate?

Third and last issue: that might be a bug, but somehow, after a few turns of war, Domai ended up becoming another member of my team. Domai's armies turned against Yang's and I was saved. The Hive now lies mostly in ruins and will be finished in a couple more turns, but I played no part in it. I don't understand why one of my enemies became a member of my team. I won't be able to teach those rebellious drones a lesson, as they are now as friendly with my mindworms than the Gaians... I what's left to me is to attack those puny factions wich have already been reduced to two or three bases, wich is like kicking into a lying man... Why is that happening? Will all the factions be united in this unwanted team?

Thank you very much. I joined a copy of my save file.

I suspect Domai became ecofriendly enough to become a Concordat member, and so was automatically an ally of you.

Humm, I don'tthink so; Domai was already a high planet score Concordat member when he became a Hive Protectorate (before joining my team, so). Moreover, Lal and Lutinen also have high planet scores and are both members of the Concordat, but they didn't join...

Thanks anyway.

Ah, the Drones were a protectorate of the Hive? Perhaps they managed to break free of them?

Yup, they did, but that doesn't explain why they join my team instead of just offering me an alliance or to become my protectorate. Moreover, our relations weren't that good (we were at war), so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have offered me such diplomatic arrangements.

Just to be sure I explained clearly, as we are now a team of three, our territories are calculated as one by the game, as are our votes in the Planetary Council and the Concordat. One vote for "Deirdre/Cha Dawn/Domai", one vote for Lal and one vote for Lutinen... We're not an alliance, but became a single faction of three leaders.

Oh, I hadn't understood you correctly then. Don't remember if it was even possible to wind up in teams like that due to ingame circumstances.

Have you tried to PM Maniac? He doesn't seem to monitor this forum anymore.

The Flowering Counter is over 75 or 80 and you're all using the Transcendence civic I guess?

No, I didn't. I'll try, thanks. Edit: Oups! He just replied!

Yup, but Deirdre and me changed to Transdence civic after having been teamed. Moreover, Lal and Lutinen also use Transcendance civic, but haven't been teamed with us. I don't know when the Drones changed to it, or if it was at the same moment he was teamed with me.

And there's still the first issue; I cannot play the cult anymore as I revert back to the Gaians as soon as I load the game.

Thank you.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Lal and Lutinen are protectorates of me, wich could have prevented them from joining the team per see...

Any lead on how to go back playing the Cult?

IIRC loading the same save a second time while in that game might work. A little hacky I know. That "change your civ" is testing the limits of what's possible with civ4 modding.

Protectorates are indeed prevented from joining the Transcendence alliance.
The Cult of Planet automatically signs an alliance with the faction that founds the Cult.

Cool, thanks. I cannot test it right now, but I'll give you feed back on this as soon as possible.

For the Cult's appearance, then, could I suggest that it be made available from the start like the other expansion factions? It's a nice idea to have it appear this way in the game, but I'd like to be able to play it without an alliance too. My opinion, anyway; I'm not formulating a demand here.

Thanks again.
