I've got two more in me...

or do a Sid 20K. They are fun and not too hard. Well, by not too hard, I mean that you find out pretty quickly if you have a chance - when the AI builds collosus before you can, even when the only thing you build before it was... nothing!!

Perhaps you'll allow me to suggest Standard Warlord. It probably won't give you a #1 slot, as Moonsinger holds this with a date of 1265, but there's only 3 other people that have entered for this catagory. It shouldn't take you too long either and I don't want to distract you from your main civIII aims!
Actually, that might make a good Gauntlet.

I guess you better make that "3 more in me".

We have not seen much progress - have you been working on it?
I've run Mapfinder a few times. I *am* playing IV and running two HOF's. ;)

They usually have it done by 2750BC, in my games.

Must have struck a chord there - sorry. I was just curious if you made any progress. I haven't been burning up the HOF with submissions either. Maybe you need a break from Civ IV.

That 1265 AD std warlord 20K number looks real stout to me. Too much SGL RNG luck involved for my liking.

Were you aware that archpheonix beat that Twice?

Nah, it's cool, I didn't mean to sound testy. I *do* need to start running Mapfinder for III more, so thank you for the nudge.

And I could use a break from IV, I've got 750+ turns left in my current game, and that's on the lowest difficulty.

Well, I shouldn't be consuming caffeine after midnight. I guess that means I'm playing Civ tonight. I think it's time to get back on the Quartermaster's list...

The table I'm focusing on is Huge/Warlord. The table has a few open slots left, and I've always just enjoyed Huge maps the best. Plus, if I finish before the late sixteenth century, maybe I can help Marsden pass Dianthus in Machiavelli. :mischief:

Mapfinder's totally crapped out on me and won't even launch anymore, but manually generating maps isn't that big a deal...

That's an interesting reason. I always enjoyed huge continents with max random civs. Are you considering using an expansionist civ for a fast AA and access to many wonder builds and contacts? Or a very strong QSC?

I'm going with the Iroquois.

Nice. Sounds like you have a new plan.
Nah, they're not really a good 20k civilization, but then again, I'm just looking to get on a table and reclaim my position at the bottom of the Quartermaster's list!!

Ever since SirPleb's monster Sid milk run, the Iroquois and that list of AI opponents has been my standards for huge runs on all levels. More personal preference than anything else...

 *Sticks head out of boiling sulfur pit*

Did some one call me? I though someone posted my name 2 days ago.

actually, they aren't a bad 20K civ.

Agri helps with growth, commercial with research, MW helps get MGL's for Heroic Epic... probably better on a higher level, where there are more opponents for leader fishing, but not bad, not bad at all.

The game's not much to write about, but I'll hopefully have it done and submitted before the update.

It's a huge pangaea. Found a starting location with a load of cows and I set up like five 4 turn settler pumps, grabbed a huge swath of land, horses, iron and a few luxuries. Not only that, but I got an SGL (philosophy?). IIRC, I manually built the Pyramids and rushed GLib, then beelined for Shakespeare's theatre.

Haven't computed a win date yet, but I did build a bunch of Mounted Warriors. I made darn sure everyone had communications with the Mongols. It was necessary before I could bribe them all into war with him.

He's dead now. I'm just killing time leader fishing against the Americans. No feud there, they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time (former Mongol neighbor where my troops were rested and hungry).
