Ok, so first things first, PTW 1.14f.

Title is Dyslexia to the power of infinity, not very PC but who cares.

Ok, here's the varient.

We may only ever have 2 techs

The starting two.

This is on Chieftain, and we can try it on small or tiny pangea, but we can only have 2 techs, which makes it really important to pick our civ traits well.

To stress, we can never research, trade, or pointy stick, GL is forbidden.

This won't be easy boys and girls, and I don't really have a clue if anyone will be interested, so let's go.

What about popping huts? You can't help getting those unless barbs are off. If those are allowed expantionist would be nice. If not allowed I would go Chinese to get the pyramids and bows.
It should still be a romp if you have bows.

Nobody has both in Conquests, but in PTW both the Aztecs and the Celts have those as starting techs.
 
You could turn off the civ traits and then decide as a group what two techs to study. That way you could be any cive you wanted, if you allow the research of two techs that is...

Hmm, I'm not that great a player, I'm thinking tiny world, and people who are good with war (Duh ;) )

Maybe Warlord?

An early UU would also be liked ( a starting tech)

The popping of huts has not been addressed. I know the people are stupid but if they have a tech thrown at them can they help it. For the variants integrity I would turn barbs off.
 
No techs means you can only win by conquest/domination. And do it fast since you just have attackers of 2. In mideval age you´ll face defenders of 4, get´s real hard then.

Usefull UU´s (top is best)
Egypt, war chariot
Aztecs, Jaguar warrior
Cartagians, Numidean murcenary
Babelonian, bowman
Zulu, impi

I´d go for Egypt, fast workers and temples to expand borders to get domination faster.
Aztec as 2nd because UU has just 1 attack.

On small pangea it should be very doable on regent or monarch. Key factor is speed.

I will signup if you upgrade your patch and game level . Should be a quick game.
 
Most UU's require a tech that you don't start with. It looks like only Aztecs and Sumeria start being able to build a UU. With Sumerias sci-agr traits I don't think it is worth it. I agree with the growth so I would want to be able to build pyramids which should be a cakewalk against the low level AI. I would also need archers to conquer. those traits are Military and Ind which only the chinese have. With ind you also get walls and speedy workers. China looks like the only choice to me.

A second question. What do you do with all the money. You can't rush anything or buy alliances so money is a non issue except for happiness. the slider will be at 70-80% towards the end I would think. Only food and shields will help so coastal towns are not worth a darn. Get towns to 5,10 shields and irrigate the rest.
 
I don't think anyone else will have PtW 1.14...the latest version is 1.27 which you can download off this site.
 
Aztecs would probably be good too. At least you get a GoldAge plus you can build archers and the agri is good for this. I still like the granary in every city from pyramids for growth more than +1 food on base.

Are huts out of the question yet? If they are in play then all this past conversation is moot.
 
Checked for combination UU starting tech, only aztec can build their UU. UU is only way to trigger GA, and Jaguar warrior is fast unit.
So I favour Aztecs and close second Chinese as they are industious and can build piramids.
In ptw there´s no agri.
There can´t be GH´s as they might give techs, especially on lower levels.
