I started out for once in a pretty good spot. At a riverside with 2 wheat nearby. I rushed my setler and discovered that most of the continent was empty. It took me 30 Turns and 18 goodie huts (i virtualie got ALL ancient era techs free) to meet the French.
After sum time the Germans, who where weaker in every aspect, demanded 100gold + Monotheisme. Such a big demand from such a puny country. I told where they could stuff it ofcourse and they actualy declared war. Seeing as the French, who i have been working with quite well where between me and Germany.
France had a larger but oudated militairy. but they where willing for a simple 100gold to fight the Germans for me. Coz to be honest, my army was quite advanced for the time...but they where mainly a defencive force.
The war ended quite soon, after 20 turn France and i signed peace.
The next treath came from Greece, who has been moving in on my terroritory swipping an Iorn source and several luxery from under my nose. Apperantly Franch held a grudge against them as well, and they declared war. This came at the perfect timing. I signed a pact against Greece and the war was on.
The French Horsemen moved over the Greek army like a steamroler taking the cities i wanted. But i already had an iron source and France was to powerfull to get into war with.
My gally's filled with my Legions where bound for a strike in there underbelly, the city of Rhodos made the perfect target to test my UU. Also in the gally's where a few Pikemen and catapults. My objective was Rhodos with its Ivory to tame my revolting masses.
As my armies landed we encounter very little to no resistance. Greece was not attaking my army at all. And the French cavalry was still very much alive, but running outa troups.
Rhodos fell after a 3 turn siege, but why stop there? There capitol Athene was looking really tempting. Capturing there capitol would prrof my supremecy and force them into a Peace..and maybe sumthing extra to come with the peace.
France could no longer continu the war, they where fresh outa soldiers in the region and signed peace. This meant i was now a full target. Why didn't they just paint a bullseye on my troops.
Athene was comming close, the siege lasted less then 1 turn.
The Greeks capitulated and almost begged me for peace, not knowing that i was running dry myself. I accapted and got a little ivory for the next 20turns.
