One thing that bothers me about Civ now is that there are very few songs to listen to while I play. How simple would it be to just simply add the ability to play your own music? Not that I need an excuse to play Civ for any longer than I already do, but if I'm going to play for several hours, it would be nice to listen to something else than the incredibly annoying repetitive tones that are played now.
Also something I think definetly needs to be added and I think it's amazing that it's not added now is a NON-AGGRESSION TREATY. I can't tell you how many times I've had to go to war simply b/c I couldn't sign one of those.
Finally, something I think is majorly important and will make the game much more challenging and more realisitic. There needs to be a cost to making roads and railroads. I hate setting my workers on auto and watching roads and railroads sprawl out all over land. Also there should be a certain amount of upkeep for the roads. Historically nations with poor road systems are poor nations. Besides, until you can switch to a government where you can hurry improvements through buying them, money is essentially useless (except with buying resources from other nations- but what does that money get them??) This would make your road system slimmer b/c you wouldn't want to maintain an expensive road system which would in turn make bombing runs or pillaging of roads that much more strategic as well as the protection of those roads. I have to say that I don't build any fortresses or place any units outside of my cities b/c I don't really need to. It would be cool to see fortresses and other blockades needed to be used.
OH YEAH AND A BIG BIG BIG P.S.- NO SWORDSMAN, CAVALRY, MUSKETMAN, ELEPHANT OR ANY OTHER LESS THAN MODERN UNIT SHOULD EVER BE ABLE TO DESTROY MY MODERN ARMOR. I can understand a guerilla being able to, not a phalanx.
P.P.S.- Please give submarines the respect they deserve. There is nothing more deadly in the seas than a nuclear attack submarine. Little can be done to stop one of those. They need to get an attack of 30 or something IMO. They should be able to withdraw- THEY'RE FREAKING SUBMARINES! Sea units should be able to attack more than once as well.
I think that's enough, I'm sure more ideas will pop in soon enough.
