Just an idea or two or even three

I have been using mods, since well, ever. Remembering when the whole forum was once based through ICQ until they took it away from us and we have civfan.
Now a question, as I have little to none experience in moding. Is there any chance of actually having a mod for the game of either base C3,PTW or Conquests, that will enable civs to reach for the stars. Having C2:ToT allows me the chance to extend my civ into orbit and colonize the planets.
Also after reading quite a few threads, has anyone thought of taking the tech tree beyond the modern age.

Is their any 'how-to' threads for the beginner if they want to learn to mod?

Found Civ3MM, whomever created the program, I thank you muchly. :)

Have a question though, how far back is to far to start the game?
Thought I would create a world without nationalities.
So Far: Stone Age - Copper Age - Bronze Age - and, Iron Age.
These will be the ages for the Ancient part of the techtree.

The ages that will follow: Feudal Age; Rennaisance and into Victorian (Industrial) Age; Atomic, Space and Information Age for the final.

Open to any ideas.

With what I have doen so far with the ancient age, I am kind of wrestling with the idea of sorcery vs science.

Any thoughts?

By the way, any suggestions as to who I can chat with about mod development?

BTW - You must be a longtime, almost professional lurker judging by your count and joining date ...
 
Just remember when this page was new, and most of us were all playing once via ICQ before they took it away from us.
I was in vlarp for a long time and even spent a lot of time on IRC, now I am back, with many ideas and a whole lot wiser. :)
