Just curious.

And to answer the potential follow-up, the server and therefore the time is controlled by telefragged and the only thing TF can do to change it is occaisionally nag them. Maybe they'll run ntp on the new one ;)

Yay, a new record for the longest period of time between two "the clock is off" threads! :D ;)

IIRC, the reason is that every time Telefragged does something with the server (or fixes something, or sumthin' like that), the clock "pauses," and so at the end it's a little behind. Not 100% sure though.

Edit: That can't be it, since the clock is ahead, not behind. :hmm: Who knows. I could check a previous clock thread and look back to see why (since it's been covered), but the search feature is disabled. :( Someone else probably knows, though.

I better post in this thread to keep up the trend...

And no I am not clock obsessed...

Maybe there should be a notice next to the time saying that it is not accurate and its all telefragged's fault?

I don't even notice it any more, like the UTC or GMT thing, it converts in my head automatically, no consious thought. Hmm. . . I may need to spend more time elsewhere. . .

It also says 'All times are GMT', but it actually shows a time GMT+1. I don't bother with it, so it doesn't bother me.

Jayne, it is BST (Brittish Summer Time for the non-British), but it seems all forums I know of that claim to be GMT are really just "current time in Britain". :crazyeye:

FWIW, the 'Forum Clock is slow" is a very old subject. Telefragged don't seem to want to sync it with a time server, and their internal server clock creeps ahead each time it is reset...
