A nice first turn. I'll try a diferent strategy in this game, I learned a lot in the game vs Loulong. I just hope it works :)
I used "Misfit's take singapore on the first turn" tactic :D

Cities conquered:
US: Aparri, Manila, Davao, Guam
CW: Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Rangoon, Sibu, Hong Kong
China: Nanning, syan, Hankow

I lost :
LT in nanning
NI near nanning
NI in singapore
DD near davao (vs a US CA)
a fighter was lost bombing the CW BBs near Singapore
Marine in sibu

Pearl Harbor was attacked, and the result was excelent. I destroyed 2 fighters, 4 BB and the barracks. Our losses were two bombers.
I forgot to sunk the sub south of midway... Silly me...

It took me 2 weeks to find 3 hours to play this game, but we are finally underway.

It would appear that Portuga did better than I (and used my Singapore tactic against me).

Pearl Harbour: 2 fighters, 2 BBs destroyed. 2 pop & courthouse killed. 2 BBs redlined. Lost 1 fighter and 1 bomber.

Davao, Manokwari, Hong Kong, Bhuket, Kuala Lumpur, Guam, Sian, Manila, Sibu, Rangoon, Kudat, Puerto Princess taken. Lost (5) infantry against Rangoon, 1 tank against Kudat, 1 inf against Sian and 1 inf against Hong Kong.

All the infantry and guerillas E of Sian and Hankow killed with barricades taken.

Prince of Wales BB sunk, Repluse redlined.

CA and DD W of Davao damaged. Lost 1 fighter.

I think that's it.

VPs: Japan 11705, Allies 295

Portuga didn't leave me a whole lot to work with, but here goes....

Pearl Harbour:

Sunk 2 DDs, 2 CAs, 1 BB, with 1 DD damaged. Lost 1 DD & 1 CA. (As far as I can tell that was about 40% of the escort fleet for the carriers). That's why I don't bring my surface ships in range of Pearl. My fleet is toast next turn though......

DD sunk S of Midway. Lost a sub.

CV sunk N of Davao (honestly, in the last place I expected it to be. I was expecting to find whatever killed my sub.)

3 DDs SW of Sibu.

3 Artillery captured S of Kuala Lumpur. Needless to say, they aren't there anymore.

A boring turn for the allies. Misfit didn't do any mistakes - like I did :)

US:
lost a LT near manila

CW:
defeated a NI nera Rabaul

China:
destroyed some roads

Dutch:
bombed some parachuters

Menado, Ketapang, Donggala, Sangkoelirang, Aparri, Langchow, Chengdu, Sarmi and Hankow taken.

My navy and airforce got lots of target practise.

BB N of Batavia sunk.
US DD, CA SW of Tenate sunk.
Transport SW of Tenate sunk.
2 DDs S of Donggala sunk.
DD E of Bandjermasin sunk.
Sub N of Singapore sunk.
Sub NW of Guadacanal sunk.
CV W of San Diego sunk. Damaged the 2 CAs and the other CV.
Damaged a CA W of Bandjermasin.

Lost 2 inf against Aparri. Lost a sub against a US sub NW of Palau. Lost 3 bombers and a fighter against the Hornet / Yorktown CV group.

You made the same mistake Hawklord did in the semifinal. You moved your fleet due west out of San Diego, directly into the line of fire of Kido Butai. In Hawklord's case he lost everything. This time around I got hurt about evenly.

Not sure what your strategy was in China. Taking Langchow took almost all of my tanks, but after that, not garrisonning Chengdu cost you dearly.

If I executed my turn correctly, CW, China and Dutch are all out of oil.

Japan:

Honolulu:
sunk 2 subs, 1 DD
destroyed 2 fighters and two bombers.

Wake

Medan

Menado

kuala lumpur
destroyed the dutch flak

near ketapang
sunk 2 ca and a sub

simngapore

vs the china, I remember that I attack the northern town and a radar nearby, but forgot to write the details.

Your second turn as Japan was just amazing. You really know your way in this scenario.
No oil on 2nd turn... I'm impressed :-)

I've had 4 tries to get it right my friend. And as good at turn 2 was in this game, it wasn't as good as I did against Hawklord.

The key to this scenario is the Jap DD units. (Which is why I targetted yours over the CAs or even BBs). They can shuffle units around so quick, the Dutch don't have time to setup their defenses. I'm doing well against the Dutch but not having as much success against the CW. Tarawa was too well defended so I don't have a realistic shot there. I'll have to scramble a little bit.

I recommend playing Eric_a's TOS version. Its far more realistic with invisible subs and no transport DDs. I can't do the silly movement cheats in that version that I can get away with in Firaxis' WWII in the Pacific. Japan can't expand so quickly.

Needless to say, knowing my own strategies, I can guarantee that you won't find my CVs steaming straight at Hawaii. ;) I count out tiles to make sure I always stay out of range......

See why it takes me 3 hours to play my first turn? I pull up the combat calculator and figure out the best odds for the first 3 turns. With luck and good planning, the Dutch (and China) are effectively dead by then.

Cheers
Misfit

Allies:

What a silly mistake I did in Chengdu... Loulong also took advantage of this kind of distractions of my part, but at least he made some mistakes too. I couldn't find a mistake in your plays yet.

USA:
did nothing.

CW:
sunk a DD near rabaul (bomber) an other near guadalcanal

China:
I killed around 7 NI. Ilost around 5 Inf.

Dutch:
Sunk 3 dd near ketapang. defeated a parachuter and a LT near ketapang (a bit further east)

Sunk 2 CAs, DD W of Ketapang. Lost a BB, Bomber and sub. (ouch) (BTW, the only DD you missed was the only one with a marine on it. Luck of the draw I guess.)

Tank NE of Bandjermasin killed.

Rabaul captured.

Chunking fell. God knows how many infantry I killed. Something like 8-9 in front and in the city along with a few guerrillas. Lost 2 inf.

Inf. SW of Chunking killed.

Nanning captured.

2 Inf S of Nanning killed.

Batavia, & Tenate captured.

Sub south of Bandjerwangi sunk. (That was a very sneaky location. By the time I found it I was down to fighters. It took 5 fighters to nail it).
