Japan invades Australia. Darwin captured in a difficult fight that cost 4 marines.

North of Rangoon the Allied advance was stopped, killing 4 Anzac units at a cost of 1 Elite NI unit.

Port Moresby was bombed (again). Factory destroyed. DD sunk in harbour and units damaged.

2 CW CAs were sunk N of Sarmi.

US Sub sunk way N of Pearl.

On the previous turn I had rebased my entire bomber squardron and most of my zero units from the Pearl fleet to Kwaljein. This turn the majority of the US Navy shows up and performs a landing. Unfortunately for Hawklord, I had rebuilt the airport (for this turn). There is no way the city can fall to the 2 GIs he managed to get landed. The Jap airforce engaged the US units. 4 BBs, 1 Transport and a CA were sunk. A DD was damaged. One other DD got away without a scratch.

Invasion of Australia continues. Daly Waters and Borroloola taken (by tanks). Bombers cut essential road links inside Australia, slowing Australian troop movement to the front.

Kunming and Myitkyina fall. Lost 1 NI.

Port Moresby bombed to ruins. All units inside city at 1 hp before the assault. Even then it came down to a Jap MG vs. a CW Flak to win. City fell on the last HP of the MG. Military Great Leader spawned when Elite Marine attacked the city.

Massive air battle over Wake island. 7 Jap bombers attempted to sink the lone DD retreating from the failed assault at Kwaljein. 3 bombers were shot down, with 4 other substantially damaged. US lost 4 fighters on CAP. After that, I gave up......

Anzac E of Darwin and E of Daly Water killed.

Sunk DD S of Wake (scared the crap out of me because I hadn't thought to reinforce Wake so it only had 2 ground units in it).

Davao, Sibu and Kudat liberated. (The Marines have landed) Sarmi taken. Lost an Anzac.

E of Sian, killed a Jap Army, 3 NIs, 3 Tanks. Lost 2 tanks but gained an MGL.

Lost tank against defenses of Alice Springs. City holds. Marines assaulted Cape York. 1 Marine lost and 1 Anzac killed. City holds.

I guess its time to concede here. You caught my allies by surprise with a sneaky trick and we have never recovered. It looks like my Jap offensive is slowing down and you are too far ahead for me to catch up.

I think the Firaxis version of War in the Pacific is permanently broken, as my Japanese offensive shows. Anytime you want a rematch with Eric_A's TOS version let me know. Its far more balanced.
