I just finished up a 125 BC conquest game with a Prince Kublai Khan on a Massive Continents, Islands Mixed In Big and Small map. 6 Opponents.

First of all, my starting position was awesome- Forests, 3 Wines, 2 Cows, a River, 3 Hills, and 1 Horse. I researched Animal Husbandry while building a Worker, then Mining, Bronze Working, along with a Barracks, and 3 Warriors. My Scout found Mehmed, Louis, and Joao. I researched Horseback Riding, built a Ger, then spammed Keshiks. Used 5 to blitz Louis, then 10 for Mehmed, and 15 for Joao. All had Combat I/II/III, and some had Medic. I ignored settling cities; just pure conquest. Kept Istanbul, and used captured Workers to expand infrastructure. 30 Keshiks invaded Ramses. He was on a peninsula connected to the mainland by a one-tile isthmus. Used pure Keshik rush to blitz him. He fell in 2 turns, kept Thebes. I finished The Oracle in istanbul the same time Thebes came outta revolt, and lightbulbed CoL, so Thebes became the Confucian holy city. A Korean Axeman popped out in the island 2 tiles away. Wang Kon was met as I used 2 Galleys as a boat bridge in an area where 1 coast tile seperated the land. Blitzed Wang Kon while massing more Galleys. Razed Pyongyang and Seoul. His 3rd city was on a closer island, so I razed that. He had OB with Washington, whose Work Boat came near my Galleys. Met him, and followed the Work Boat back home. Stupid Washington. It led me to New York. Razed that after unloading all my Keshiks; Washington must've had a heart attack. Conquered him for a Conquest Victory.

Okay, so if you managed to finish that narrative, here's the strategy part; Keshiks are WAY better than Horse Archers, especially with Combat promotions. The Ger supes em up even more, giving them 7 XP with a Barrack right after they're built. Mongolian Synergy is simply amazing. The only way it could get better would be if Aggressive gave Mounted Units Combat I as well.

Gotta love the Kahns at warfare!!!!!!!! Built alot of Keshiks and raze cities, that's how they both work best!!!!

Great attack story. (follow the work boat, Ha!)
There are a couple civs i avoid playing -Rome and the Mongols.
They can just decimate.

It has to be a slow game...there's no way you could do that on normal. I always play on normal cause the early UUs become even more powerful on marathon.

cool, very cool play. gotta love keshiks.

LOL - I tried Kublai recently and after I got AH, I found NO horses nearby. Not even close! I gave up to try a random leader after that.

Cheers.
