I've never seen anyone advance a claim that Srivijaya ever had, much, if anything, to do with Siam.
 
Well, sure, we think it did and there's some evidence to support it. But quite what a 'sphere of influence' meant, in a Classical Southeast Asian context, is something else entirely.
 
Srivijaya sphere of influence extends over parts of what is now southern Thailand, I think.

it is. the Sri Vijaya extended as far as the city of Surat Thani or city of Nakorn Si Thammaraj.

There was an ancient 'amulet' claimed to be the trace of Sri Vijaya culture. this amulet was a big hit in 2006-mid 2007
