I'm not sure what this has been but in the past two days. CFC has locked up a variety of of different browsers on a number of occasions.

Maybe this is only happening for me, but when the the main www.civfanatics address is accessed, the first page will load up until the point when the UGO ad banner normally displays and spews forth a pop-up ad and then it will lock up before we get the usual ad box.

The last time it happened, I tested it in IExplorer, MSNexplorer and the AOL netscape emulator and all three locked up went to a "not responding" status. No probelmes at the same time with any other site content (poly, google, yahoo, or email).

Anyone else have any light to shed on the situation?

(Oh, and remember you are not allowed to use the C-word when discussing the ads.) ;) ;)
 
Nothing wrong on my end... Then again, I usually close an ad the moment the window comes up. (I have a dialup connection :p so, it gives me time to close it before it causes any problems).
 
Perhaps this has something to do with it: (taken from my firewall log)

10/10/02 12:33:23 AM Block ActiveX object mediamgr.ugo.com

Try disabling activeX for ugo.com in your internet zones.
 
Let me know if you continue to have problems with the main page...

It works fine here and I probably visit the main page more often than all of you. :)

Not if you are trying to start a completely unrelated discussion thread in civ3 general discussions. If you wanted to start a thread protesting the content of the ads feel more than free to use it. But don't bring such crap into civ3 GD.
 
LOL duke, I'm not referring to any 4 letter word.....cracker knows what I am referring to. ;)
