LAN Game doesn't work.

My brother and I spent 6 hours downloading patches for his vanilla 1.09, and 2 different BTS downloads (since the first didn't work).

We try to do a LAN game, and the game never appears on the list. In fact no games appear. We tried 30 different ways. Nothing. We are definitely on the same network and we have no clue what happened. Anyone have any idea?

Do you have a firwall or router with a firewall someplace on your network? You need to ensure that port 2056 UDP is not being blocked anywere, that is why the hosted game is not showing up on the other players game list.

First off you need to know what your real ip address is, easiest way is to go to http://whatismyip.com/ Now start your game go to multiplayer and start a new game, have your brother start the game and put your ip address in the network address field under join game then click connect. Assuming the absence of firewalls/routers yall should br ready to go.
