Land, Air, and Sea Bombardment Theory IN Modern Age

This stratagy is most likely been used so I woll not take credit for it but I will explain why I think it is better that mass producing takns late in Industrial Age and through out the Modern Age. I belive that Massive air power,naval bombardment and overwhellming Artillery will do the trick. I usually have the smallest armed forces in my games but I have around 200 stealth bombers and 100 bombers with 100 fighters, 100 Agis crusiers and 50 Artillery pieces and a couple of cruise misles AND I ONLY HAVE AROUND 100 tanks, I still slaughter an enemy who has 5 times the tanks beacuse I hit them with everything Air land sea in one coheesive bombardment and use the MAs to sweep and the MIs to secure. I developed this kind of mentallity after being sick of having to roll 400 tanks to invade a decently strong nation. With this I bombard, sweep, secure, move up and repeat.... its efficient but incredibly time consuming (1 turn took me 15 minutes at hieght of one of my difficultest battles....stupid Germans wont die with outa fight )

o yeah and dont forget to load up marines on choppers to cut of reasources.

and if your fighting some one a ways away with my army load up on transports that are half tanks half artillery with a group of around 20 carriers and 20 agies cruisers and land ALL YOUR TROOPS IN ONE SPOT dont disperes cause youll get mutalated. USe air power to destroy all the roads surrounding the fleet to slow down reinforcements witch will land and fortify on high ground. After that Use the remaning air craft to bomb the surrounding enemy ships. Use the cruisers to pick em off one by one. THEN If u have some air power left over use that to get a head start on lowering the enemy city count. NEVER CAPTURE enemy citys on foriegn continents unless your vastly culturally advanced (I cant remember all thoose times I lost alot off men having a break to that stupid culture flip)....use the stratagie above from here and youll be alright...

Great tips, I must say! Just yesterdy night I thought what to do and did not find an answer... May be your strategy will work. Could you advise more from your experience? I am on Diety level at "late morden era", (50 MAs, ets.) and just finish "development". Capture all resurses, most lux, clean up "my" Island, make peace and now thinkin about Victory. Only Space rase is possible, I think. Against me 3 Super State (Comunists triangle with MPP), they have approx 30 MAs each lots of Mech Inf, and 1 ICBM each. Now they fight against 3 weaker opponents (they have tanks only), but did not invade their mainlands yet, so it is for long. I have not many time to prepare, (but i have money) to rush, becouse China has finish already 9 parts of Spasehip. Also it takes 5 turns to sail accros ocean to their Capital. it is near coast and can be easyly isolated. Any idea how to breake their MPP?:confused:
 
Try to stick with the space race plan but if your not sure try this idea...

Are they far from you? If so try to make an allaince with one of them and build up your coastal defense by putting bombers on the sea and ships IN your port citys...this is also a wierd tactic I developed...Use the country that your allaiend with to go to war with the other super powers oh yeah mass all your artillery were you can find them if u have rail road. Now your allie is at war with the other 2 on a seperate continent just sit back and watch the show...until you see enemy transports about to reach your little continent then use the artillery to pound the transport and its escort along with bombers. THEN use the your ships you put in your citys to pick them off the coasts...When they HAVE no transports in your millitary intelligence screen then you mass your troops to invade the enemy using my tactics above but by then the enemy will hopefully be massed in your allies direction completely opposite from were u want to hit. THe enemy might also be suffring from War fatigue and constant nuclear bombardment (once 3 superpowers colide in modern age the pump out thoose nukes like there was no tommorow especially in diety) Hit them with a massive barrage and set up a beach head. The enemy will be shell shocked and u will raze citys and leave. Now all thoose powers are weak and u are only a little if not weaker. I had this exact thing happen once. There were 3 massive Super Powers smack in one continent then I was far off in the nourth. I made and allaince with the Indians and declared war with the french the indians unloaded there ENTIRE nuclear arsenal of around 35 nukes ICBMS and tacs total and took out a thrid of there army the other superpower jumped in and before u knew it alll the powers were reduced to meager weaklings witch I proceded to whip...the key is to get one man to allaign with you no matter what It takes
 
Thanks for quick reply. Unfortunately I have not many turns left. I estimate 12 or so, before China will bild last part of spaceship. China and India 5 turns (25 tiles) west from me on another continent. Also they have 1 small City each on my continent captured from America. (India has 6 MAs in it, China 5 Tanks). God knows where the rest of their army. Persia shear smal island (not important) (north-east) with me between our continents. If I make MPP with Persia (say) I will be druged in to war with America east (strongest non-superstate, which fight actively with all 3 superpowers). So probably I have to face war against all triangle. As I said, China is No 1 target (to cancel their spaceship). :undecide:
 
since you seem to have a good amount of money rush build with try to sabotouge there production. If not then as a last resort seduce the chineese into having a war with you. they will switch to wartime and it will be hard to produce the spaceship that way. Take advantage of that and try to take out chineese and indian positions by placing all your artilllery, battle ship and bombers there and proceed to bombard it then use your tanks to occupie the citys or maybe raze them. Then proceed to use the costal defense Idea i had in my previous post... Well experiment with certain options and if they work contunie and if not then dont...
 
Your pol looks as our dialog, but it is OK. Unfortunately I was not able to check your idea in "reality". Carriers are slow and I had no time to send many. Also my money gone to sabotage last part of China spaceship twice. Therefore I send my army to suicide mission. 30 MAs 20 RAs 4 Mechinf and 10 CM landen without air preparation. I recon that to use your plan as minimum minimorum I need to destroj 12 tiles of RR, that means 36 bombers approx (9 carriers) as some bombardment fails. I had not time to do that. Well, I must say, that on Diety level it may work only as a first strike. Normalu AI has plenty of Battleships to hunter on Carriers. It have happend two turns after war begins. I manage to capture Capital, but only 2 MAs survive then, I evacuated them and captured Artys back, but lost destroers and battelships on return way. As I expect I fight againsted triangle. There was no problem to defend mainland, all Carriers they sent was killed next turn using your strategy. What was really difficult is to protect "Colony" on anoter continent (rubber, gems, oil, aluminium), former Romans an Egiptians land. But it was ground battale (defensive) and it is very different story.
 
Ohh well your in a bit of a shortage my bad. Usually I take time and mass around 5 transports and 20 carriers and 20 ships minumum. Thats a sure over kill on the beach head I want to establish but since I was assuming u had that many carriers(stupid of me). Thoose colonys might be a problem. Is there anyway you can get the country nearest to them alliend with you to act as a buffer to that beacuse if u can then load bombers up on that area and bombard any unit that trys to invade on the opposite side of your allys. If you cant then try to stick with the defensive side of it. Make sure you use Fighters for recon on the shore to see if transports are comming so u can take them out. And try to use the ships on the carriers to guard the colonys instead (if u have 4 colonys and u filled up your carriers with bombers then that would be 9 bombers per colony witch will hopefully lower the enemys stats...try to sneak a transport full of things over there or is it to far away... If you cant establish a beach head then just have a defensive war where China will be constantly trying to breach your continent long enough to keep them distracted. It could be a long struggle I hope you have Universal Sufferage.
 
Yes, air and artillery preparations are very important during the game. Don't you think that US Army is so successful because it uses a lot of aircraft, missiles and ships, lowering troop casualties as much as possible!
 
The period of the game when the big guns truly are kings is between Replaceable Parts and Motorized Transportation. A size 20 metro on a hill defended by multiple Inf going bombarded so size one by a few score Arty and then captured by a handful of Cav in a single turn is just beautiful.
