Hi folks, looking at buying a new laptop after xmas, and seeing as ciV will almost certainly be the most 'system intensive' program that it will run, I'm wondering what the forum thinks of the two laptops I have narrowed it down to.

Chances are I'll be buying from Amazon as I expect I'll be getting some Amazon vouchers, although if there are some good deals elsewhere i'd be happy to shop around.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Current laptop:

Acer Aspire 6530 - 704G25Bn
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit
AMD Turion RM-70 2.0GHz
RAM 4GB
250GB HDD
16 inch HD 1366 x 768 Display and Blu-ray Player
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512 MB Graphics Card

Option 1: £579.99 (with Blu-Ray £699.93)

Lenovo G770
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Intel Core i5 2430M 2.4GHz
RAM 8GB
750GB HDD
17.3 inch HD 1600x900 Display
AMD Radeon HD 6650M 2GB Graphics Card

Option 2: £699.99

Toshiba Satellite P500-1JF
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Intel Core i5 480M 2.66 GHz
RAM 4GB
640GB HDD
18.4 inch HD 1600x900 Display
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M 1GB Graphics Card

Hi Tokala, yeah I was thinking the Lenovo was the better system, but couldn't see why the Toshiba was £120 more expensive and thought maybe I was missing something.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Just hope they don't go out of stock or up in price between now and xmas :religion:

Cheers.
