Velvet glove was so kind to give me these tips on getting last minute era points, can anyone add to this list???
Building/buying a horse or sword etc (first resource usage)
Killing a unit with a GA/GG
Taking suzerain off someone else (+2)
Levy troops
Settle on bad ground or on new continent.
Push for a tech or civic in a new era.
+3 adjacency his a new district
If you can use GG/GA to get first fleet/corps

Build first naval or air unit.
Build tunnel.
Connect two cities with railroads.

Improving a tile enriched by a disaster
Buying great people (aside from the default 1 point, additional points for the first time using gold or faith to purchase over 60% of the cost).
First time a city hits size 10, 15, 20 and 25. (bonus points if first civ to do so)...

Don't forget your current dedication too. For example, if you have Free Inquiry, maybe you can trigger an eureka? Or just buy a library or university? I had some lucky last minute breaks with my trade routes completing just in time, while having Reform the Coinage dedication. But with this one things are inscrutable - there is no way to track when your trade route will complete, except making manual notes, so I tend to forget about them.

lol @MrRadar

I have had that same experience.
It looks like I am going to miss a golden age by 1 point.
As the turn cycles through a trader completes his route and Golden Age completed!
Feels Good Man.

I'm just gonna say it, I haven't met anyone of you personally but I love you all !!! lol Thank you soooo much ONE of these is just enough to get me over the hump!!

Fairly sure that one is repeteable as long the gold/faith you have less than 50% or so GPP earned for said person.

Get the UI mod named 'Real Era Tracker: it gives an ingame screen that shows all the era scores you can get. It's a long list, and even after many hours of playing I often find some in these list that I didn't think of myself if I am in need of that last few points.

I use an xbox so mods don't work, thanks though

although if anyone has the tracker and wants to post a screenshot here that would RULE !!!!

Converting the religion of an enemy city
Converting the suzerain of a CS suzerain by enemy

Once you declare war you automatically creates an "enemy" so that you can enjoy those bonuses.

Kill an outdated Musketman corps with your single Tank unit for that hilarious “Although they were outnumbered...” era score.

Any era points you can get from discovering a natural wonder or circumnavigation can be triggered by getting shared visibility with another civ. For example joining a military emergency, or making an alliance as Poundmaker, or making an alliance with Poundmaker. If you have shared visibility with a civ when they complete the world's first circumnavigation, you can get +5 from it.

exactly. the simple thing to do in my opinion is to use gifts in order to get favorable with an AI, and then try to get them to do a friendship and an alliance, purely so that you get to see what they've discovered. For me, it was almost always at least one natural wonder, one or more city states, and sometimes even another Civ if it's early enough. Bonus point of course for far away AIs or ones on a different continent.

Some others that can be done quickly:

Launch an Inquisition (+2 if world’s first, otherwise +1)
Buy your first ship (I usually don’t build ships for other reasons)
Levy a city-state’s military
