was playing really late one nite and the next day i was wondering why my treasury was shrinking so quickly. turns out i signed a right of passage agreement with the aztecs where i was paying 230 gold per turn!!!! i must've hit per turn instead of lump sum, lol.

what late nite mistakes have you made?

Well, dumbest yet has to be accidentally moving an army of three Elite and one Veteran Cavalry out of a city, onto a mountain so I couldn't return it to the city that turn and forgetting to move in some other unit to defend the city. The result: A Russian Regular Cavalry moves into the town, burns it to the ground, captures one unit of artillery, destroyes three bombers and sinks two destroyers. Did I hate myself for that!

I optimized everything for a nice quick war against an enemy. Signed ROP, timed to end just before I wanted to attack, built and deployed my military, canceled ROP, attacked.....

then realized that I had
forgotten to check on MPPs

12 out of 14 other civs declared war!!!!!!

What I did in my last game....
Was hurrying production of improvements all over the place, a couple times my hand slipped and I selected 'Draft citizen'! Why don't they give you a warning, like "are you sure you want to do this" like they do for other things.

And every single time I start a game, I say to myself "ok, remember to go to the advisor screen and select a tech before ending the turn so you don't lose a turn of research". Needless to say, as soon as I hit the enter key "duh, I forgot that dang advisor screen again"

Forgot I had a leader fortified (had to be protected by other units, as it was very deep in enemy territory). Later on moved the defending units, leaving the leader all alone, with a big bullseye painted on his forehead.

once i moved the defending vet infantry away from a city close to an enemy border, and forgot to draft and move in some conscripts. of course the cities behind it were undefended (because they were not near border) so that turn half my cities fell to a cav blitz

The ultimate one:

Agreed to lend my GF the CD for an evening when i had to work. Now, I can`t get it back. :aargh3:

Luckily, her B-day is soon
